Invera Equity Partners (IEP), the Netherlands-based management company of the private equity fund, acquired a 70% stake in Kompare Online d.o.o., the largest and oldest Croatian web service for comparing the prices of telecom services and insurance policies. Invera aims to further strengthen the position of the company, speed up the development of new products, digitalisation of business processes, financial stability, and employment, especially in management, marketing, and product development.
Zagreb, 30 November 2022 – Kompare, which was founded in 2012, is the largest and oldest Croatian web service for comparing the prices of telecom services and insurance policies. They employ more than 150 people in their offices in Rijeka and Osijek and will soon open an office in Zagreb. In the coming year, the company plans to hire more than 30 new employees.
On their website, users can choose, compare, and buy health insurance, vehicle insurance, internet, TV packages, and mobile tariffs. Kompare cooperates with all service providers on the market to provide users with a large database of price and service information in one place. The service is free for users, and Kompare’s business model is based on a commission on services sold.
‘We have known and cooperated with the founders for many years, and this investment confirms that their business is developing in the right direction. The investment will transform Kompare into a more modern and attractive company and expand the range of services,’ said Slaven Kordic, IEP executive partner.
In addition to employment, the capital will be used to expand the range of services and potentially enter new markets.
‘Kompare creates a unique added value for consumers, and we plan to develop this further. The plans primarily include the establishment and expansion of the existing service segment and expansion in terms of offering new insurance services. Additionally, we plan to expand new verticals through a wider range of financial services. We believe that there is room for such services in the region’s markets, and we plan to expand into these areas in the future,’ said Slaven Kordic, IEP executive partner.
Even after the investment, company founders Emil Franjčec, Ozren Papić, Nikša Tomulić, and director Marjeta Tomulić Vehovec continue to run the business and remain in the ownership structure of the company.
Kompare is Invera’s third investment in the region, following the acquisitions of the Croatian company Metamorfoza, known for its global franchise of the Museum of Illusions, and the Slovenian company Marles, the largest and oldest manufacturer of prefabricated wooden houses and buildings in the region.
